Kate Mara: A Star of "House of Cards"

If you're a fan of political dramas, you've undoubtedly heard of the award-winning Netflix series "House of Cards." The show chronicles the rise of the unscrupulous politician Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey), but it's not just the leading man who captures your attention. Enter Kate Mara, who plays the role of Zoe Barnes, a headstrong reporter who forms a dangerous alliance with Underwood.

Not only is Mara incredibly talented on screen, but she's also become something of a style icon. She's graced the covers of numerous magazines, and her effortlessly chic fashion sense has earned her a place on countless best-dressed lists. But what's even more impressive is Mara's dedication to her craft. She's worked hard to establish herself as a respected actor, taking on a variety of challenging roles in both film and television.

Born in Bedford, New York, Mara grew up in a family of actors. Her mother's side of the family has been involved in theater for generations, and Mara herself got her start performing in school plays. Her big break came in 2003, when she landed a recurring role on the hit television series "Everwood." From there, she went on to star in a number of other television shows, including "Nip/Tuck" and "24."

But it was her role in "House of Cards" that really put Mara on the map. She received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Barnes, and her chemistry with Spacey was palpable. She was even nominated for an Emmy Award for her work on the show (though she ultimately lost out to Anna Gunn of "Breaking Bad").

Away from the cameras, Mara is a passionate activist for a number of causes. She's been involved in the fight against animal cruelty, and she's also an advocate for LGBT rights. She's done charity work all over the world, including building schools in impoverished areas of Africa.

All in all, Kate Mara is a true talent and a force to be reckoned with. If you haven't yet seen her in action, make sure to catch her in "House of Cards" or one of her other great films. You won't be disappointed.
